The C3A Prosperity and Climate Talks aim to strengthen the bridge between academics and policymakers, in particular Ministries of Finance, to highlight and learn from the complex and multifaceted transformation processes of evolving climate physical risks and the low-carbon transition, unfolding against a backdrop of global economic uncertainty and concerns about energy security.

In this first episode, Mark Carney - UN Special Envoy for Climate Action & Finance - delves into the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of climate action and financial systems. A discussion on how the financial system and policy can accelerate the shift to a net zero world was introduced by Pablo Saavedra, Vice President for the Prosperity vertical at the World Bank and moderated by Alissa Kleinnijenhuis, Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at Cornell University.

Ep.02 - Paris+10: Reflecting on Progress and Charting the Path to COP30, with Laurence Tubiana
In this second episode, Laurence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Foundation (ECF), explores the foundations of the Paris Agreement, reflecting on the past decade, the evolution of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and the progress in climate finance since Paris through to COP29 NCQG. Looking ahead to COP30 and the roadmap to Belem, she will discuss the role of coalitions of the willing in advancing climate goals amidst a challenging geopolitical landscape, including the work and plans of the Global Solidarity Levies Task Force for the year ahead.
