Demand Assessment Workshop for Regional and Thematic Hubs

The first workshop organised by C3A was held in Paris on June 21st. It gathered various sherpas from the Coalition of Finance Ministries for Climate Action as well as a few experts and representatives of local and international partners.

As C3A is structured as a demand-driven initiative, the primary focus of this workshop was to assess demand for the regional and thematic hubs. Participants had the opportunity to delve into an open discussion on the role of Finance Ministries and their needs, from macro-financial stability issues, fiscal and debt sustainability, adaptation financing needs to the question of structural change management. The workshop also explored methods to establish a robust framework for demand assessment while identifying expected benefits and key success factors.

A key takeaway of the workshop was also to develop effective working methods within C3A to create an enabling environment for finance ministries, regional coordination structures, and other relevant stakeholders. By establishing a common narrative, C3A aims to foster stronger engagement and participation of Ministers of Finance in climate action.
